Have you been to hills already? I would like to know so that I can plan where I could spend my vacation as well. I reckon, there are a lot of places somewhere in Melbourne.
Cheers,
Horse Racing Tips
Hi Phillip, I live in West Lakes, Adelaide and like skating. I am not an expert, still learning. I like sliding and cruising and meeting people that enjoy longboarding. My name is Carlos, you can call me 0401167750
So, Carlos and I have met and been skating together since, erm, October (looking at this thread!). We have been skating about once a week (sometimes twice) but I really need to ramp this up a little.
I skate to and from work but its not the same as sharing some stoke and trying new things so...... PLEASE, (big please) can anyone (young, old, fat, thin, girl, boy, man, woman) in Adelaide (remembering that I now have a car) who enjoys longboarding or skating of any kind, beginner, expert, novice, GET IN TOUCH.
I have seen groups (sadly whilst on foot), spoken to a few timid individuals and as yet we are still only 2 strong. Adelaide show yourself to this thread!
Some people are addicted to crack, I am addicted to longboarding. Go figure ....
Iree Sweet Beet,
Thanks dude - I left my phone at home today but will ring you when I get in at 5 ish. I can definately help with the slide thing!
I can't believe my luck, 4 of you!! yeah! Those quiet spots sound good for neighbourhood friendlyness.
Yep - i never used to slide but its worth learning.
I can take a day off but don't get paid as im a contractor - will definately take a few of though. Evenings and weekend are best - whats ur postcode - just need to find out how far it is to drive to yours or the hills in question.
Does your boy have slide gloves? will need 'em.

cool nanas, links is a good place to practice.
just before that power box in extreme left of pic, there is a big sweeper goin right ..is fairly steep and very fast..my lad had big toeside get off at bottom... didnt make it round the corner, jumped the curb and bailed it into the rough..he went from the top, rush of blood! was very scary...thats the point i decided we all need to learn to slide, pronto and assess the risk better.
the other thing is ..i have some days free thru work week, usually a wednesday, thursday or friday depending on work if you can get out at all.
Haha, you lot are into it! Hope you've recovered after the loss of your undies.. and lucky about the sprain rather than a break.
Have you guys got slide gloves yet? I'll have to hook you all up with Slippery Dip pucks next time we meet. They're an essential part of longboarding!

...no dramas.. school just gone back this week anyways..we've been a little quiet this past week as result..the other hold up has been.. i got some major gravel rash to the right buttock, wrecked my fave undies too.. and not ferggit'n, we thought the big lad broke his wrist on sunday night, riding longboard to skatepark on flat, ha ! xray monday, sprain only fortunately.
all recovered ...we attack the links after scholistication tonite.
Ok you are 2 hours ish away, and my car is shite. Erm, meeting half way sounds good but I love the look of those slopes in to pictures so will have to come down your way too.
Belair is good but you need to walk in to avoid the car fees. Belair surface is not to good in places either.
I am definately up for it - if only I had a better car. Does anyone in your crew live closer? (posible meet up and get lift).
Crackheads - no probs just get a little bit of crack on a stick and throw it over the bushes - they'll be there for hours looking for it! Joke
Hills look good on google terrain map down your way - cant wait ...

post code is 5203..fair trek from semaphore.
we can meet you in and around the hills closer to you, keen to try different roads, belair nat park looks good, be quieter midweek.
there is alot of new subbo work happening around sheidow park, morphettvale, seaford and mount barker is ready to go bugfuck building wise, all hilly..i even looked at colonades shopping centre car park.. that would be fun, but you would need protection from the crackheads at night..gets a bit nasty, and security would be heavy.
see wot works best, keep in touch
