Format and Safty rules
Head to head racing, with two class's (amature and open) the top two riders of each class with advance into the semi finals.
NO HELMET NO RACE, its that simple, if you dont have head protection you wont be allowed to race, we want to have a safe and fun event and I dont want to see anyone get hurt. GLOVES ARE ADVISED, but they are not mandatory.
The event staff reserves the right to disqualify riders.
Registration
a gold coin donation is required to compete, all the cash will be going towards the cash prize
For your chance to win some gear by just entering the contest please send an email to: team.melburn@hotmail.com containing your name, age and experience level, by doing this you are going to save me a huge headache on the day.

YOUR STILL PERFECTLY FINE TO TURN UP ON THE DAY AND RACE, but it would be helpful to me if you send the email to me.

Location info travel info
Royal Park, corner Flemington road and Elliot avenue, just behind the tennis court (melway 29 C12) both the 57 and 59 trams will drop you near the corner at the bottom of the hill, if you get off the tram at flemington road and elliot avenue (there will be a huge intersection) and walk into the park towards the tennis club you will see the meeting point.

*If you don't know the area* there will be a group meeting at federation square on the stage at 9.30 to travel as a group to the event, I advise this as it will stop you getting lost on the day.

the wetness issue is something i am going to have to discuss with jimmy if people want to shift dates, the events are seperate even though i am playing a large part in both hemleys is not organising this race.
As a rider i have no issues racing this hill in the wet at all, its racing, its a weak hill, you still wont require sliding to get down its not like the track being wet will change much at all.
as the guy putting on the race i would love to see a huge turn out, and i see the rain changing that, how ever i can also see the merrit to the kids learning to race in the wet and it will definently seperate the men from the boys.

If it rains I vote for moving the comp to the following day to match with the Hemley Bomb. Hopefully it doesnt rain though eh? The answer may be harden the F up kiddies.

i have been asked by a few guys what setups are good for this hill, so i thought i would let you know what i like, Short WB and or low ride heights are handy on this hill, something thats very agile is also handy, you need to be able to cut around riders in a tight space and being able to turn quickly is very handy, the turns dont require this, but passing does tend to require an agile board. somethign thats setup with a high degree front truck (50+) and a low degree back (sub 40) seems to be good in my experience, i have been using a 0 degree back truck on my boards for the hill and loving it.

If your good on your slalom board i would be using that or a nice and low DH board
