Event Description

Grab 'yer Wheelyboard and take a shot at the Wild Wild West!

Format

4-man Heats 'Round Robin' style racing into finals elimination tree

The Hill

Fast technical track featuring 2 hairpin turns, fast straights and tight sweepers with plenty of drafting options. Speeds while racing could reach as high as 80km/h. Road surface is nice and smooth and ready to shred.

Travel

There will be a shuttle bus for this race This bus will leave from Sydney on FRIDAY afternoon from my house at around 5 or 6pm and will make one stop at Hopkin on the way to pick up anyone else who cant make it to Curl Curl.

We will be traveling back to sydney as soon as the race finishes.

Location

The hill's location is on the western side of the Blue Mountains (45 minutes from Katoomba) but will be undisclosed until the DAY of the race. Everyone will meet at Venice Caravan Park, Hartley by 6am and will roll as a group to the hill. If you are late, you miss out.

Categories

There will be only an opens class run as far as race divisions go as the track is not a 'Grom/Beginner' track, however if there are riders under the age of 17 and a bunch of girls then we will have results and prizes for them according to how they ranked in the opens.

Registration

Registration is now closed

Safety Requirements

  • Full Leathers
  • Fullface helmet
  • Gloves

Due to the location of the race, and it being far from the nearest medical institute we will need all competitors to be prepared and come ready with all the necessary safety items listed.

Accommodation

Due to the distance traveling by most competitors, it would be a good idea to get your camping action on, or book somewhere to stay on the friday night. The Majority of the group will be staying at Venice Caravan Park on friday night. It is $14 per person for camping. This is also the meeting place for the following morning.

Event Sponsors

If anyone else would like to help out by donating some prizes let me know and we can get your logo up on race day as an event sponsor!

I am effing looking forward to this man. So if I wanted a spot on the bus from your place Jacko, would I just leave my car somewhere in your street, and get back to it when we return for the awards after partay sesh?

There will be an awards and after party on the Saturday night back at my pad. If people need somewhere to crash let me know. I also believe it will be Heelside Magazine's first birthday so there could be some joined celebrations!

The campground we will be staying at is called Venice Caravan Park, located in Hartley which is south of Lithgow. This is the closest venue to the race track for camping. Camping might be around $14 per person but which a large group im sure we can get the pricing down.

This will also be the meeting place in the morning for those who will not be traveling on the bus or are not camping with the group.

MEETING TIME WILL BE EARLY. 6AM!!!!

We will be leaving the campground just after 6am and will head to the race hill as a group. The location of the race hill will only be disclosed on the MORNING of the race for those who are not traveling with the group.

The first runs of the hill will begin at 7am

Travel information:

The race will be starting VERY early on Saturday morning. It is advised that riders are there the night before otherwise you will have to get up extremely early.
The shuttle bus will leave Sydney on Friday afternoon from my house and will make one stop at Hopkin on the way. If you need a spot on this bus you MUST contact me by this weekend to secure your ride there. All the information in regards to camping will be available soon. The bus will then be coming back to Sydney immediately after the race

all those who are able to help out at the race with Marshaling, who are capable of working as a team and maning radios on the corners please let me know. If you can send me an e-mail with a contact number to speshalized@gmail.com that would be great.

Food/drink at the race will be provided for volunteers, plus a spot on the bus to/from sydney
