Event Description

Grab 'yer Wheelyboard and take a shot at the Wild Wild West!

Format

4-man Heats 'Round Robin' style racing into finals elimination tree

The Hill

Fast technical track featuring 2 hairpin turns, fast straights and tight sweepers with plenty of drafting options. Speeds while racing could reach as high as 80km/h. Road surface is nice and smooth and ready to shred.

Travel

There will be a shuttle bus for this race This bus will leave from Sydney on FRIDAY afternoon from my house at around 5 or 6pm and will make one stop at Hopkin on the way to pick up anyone else who cant make it to Curl Curl.

We will be traveling back to sydney as soon as the race finishes.

Location

The hill's location is on the western side of the Blue Mountains (45 minutes from Katoomba) but will be undisclosed until the DAY of the race. Everyone will meet at Venice Caravan Park, Hartley by 6am and will roll as a group to the hill. If you are late, you miss out.

Categories

There will be only an opens class run as far as race divisions go as the track is not a 'Grom/Beginner' track, however if there are riders under the age of 17 and a bunch of girls then we will have results and prizes for them according to how they ranked in the opens.

Registration

Registration is now closed

Safety Requirements

  • Full Leathers
  • Fullface helmet
  • Gloves

Due to the location of the race, and it being far from the nearest medical institute we will need all competitors to be prepared and come ready with all the necessary safety items listed.

Accommodation

Due to the distance traveling by most competitors, it would be a good idea to get your camping action on, or book somewhere to stay on the friday night. The Majority of the group will be staying at Venice Caravan Park on friday night. It is $14 per person for camping. This is also the meeting place for the following morning.

Event Sponsors

If anyone else would like to help out by donating some prizes let me know and we can get your logo up on race day as an event sponsor!

weather update: RAIN!

There is a chance this race will be a wet race, that sucks... unfortunately we will not be able to re-schedule the event due to people booking flights and making plans to travel interstate.

However on the plus side, i have organized hay-bails. The track itself is very do-able in the wet, the speeds will be lower due to water on the track and the one turn that could cause some upsets will now be protected by a big soft wall of hay.

So make sure you pack some warm clothes and check your tents for leaks, unzip your vaginas and let your balls hang out, this race is still going on in full-force!

This is a general map for where the meeting place will be on the Saturday morning.

Google search Venice Caravan Park, Hartley.

We will be meeting there at 6am and rolling out from there to the hill.

Yeah fairly wack as to why there are 40 in the attending above... and half that on the the official list. If I can get there from Melbs others in Syd at the very least should too. Cant wait, gonna be a sick time regardless.
