And as a point of reference, u may say u tried the track in the way, but there is no way u can say you tried it in the mannor of which it will be ridden on race day. Sure u can cruise down any hill in the wet and be fine, but u pin 4 competitors up against each other and throw money and glory on the line it's al whole new ball game. Also less experienced riders that want a taste of the action can create an upset and cause injury to even the best of riders as slippery conditions are extremely unpredictable.

If u get haybails, that's a different story. But try to understand how the public will react when u go and dump a whole bunch of hay on the road on a wet day and say "oh hi guys we are racing here today".

Sorry for the ramble I just need u to understand all aspects of the situation, and maybe all those involved with this event can consider it too and have their say on the matter

Pat, u will need safety barriers if riding in the wet. U think it would be sweet but I foresee mega carnage and possible injuries. You have little to no wet racing experience. I understand it's a matter of balls but the larger issue if the fact that if an accident or injury DOES occur, the race will be stopped, or there is a greater chance of having it shut down. In this case, u will not be able to just re-run it the following weekend.
As someone who has been attending and also organizing (or mainly helping organize) events for 4 years, I suggest sussing out the wet weather situation and possibly postponing to the following weekend.
As a race organizer u must be smart and think of all those who are involved. It's hard to say if more than 15-20% of the participants have ridden a fast track with breaking techniques required, let alone no safety barriers what so ever... Let Alone on a wet/slippery track.

I understand most people will say "grow some balls" to which I would reply "grow some brains". Sometimes it's best to be smart than risk the health of others... Especially considering this the first event you have ever organized

After try out the track today in the rain I reckon it could make the race really interesting, also since we have interstate travelers, we will race rain, hail or shine. But if it's raining make sure to bring a spare pare of balls.

Is the race going to run if it rains?

I'm coming up from adelaide for this and don't want to waste time or money.
