Event Description

Early morning freeride down the hill.

  • If you can't take on hill climb with ease, stay away.
  • If you can't foot brake or slide at speed, stay away.
  • If you don't wish to wear a helmet, pads and gloves, stay away.
  • If you have trouble staying in your lane, stay away.
  • If you think I'm an ass... Stay Away :p

Now that is sorted... I have in the pipeline a full fledge road shut down, haybaled, leather fullface wearing, point scoring race!

So, donations towards that would be welcome, but completely up to you!  I would however prefer donations of time when it does happen and for any help along the way you could offer.

Format

  1. Get there at 5am - The gate will be closed
  2. Walk to the top and shred down to the bottom.  Repeat.
  3. 6am - Start doing car trips up until the traffic gets to intense.
  4. 9am - If I still haven't made any headway with the very helpful council that sends me in loops by then, storm the council fortress with skaters and demand a straight answer from them!

Any other suggestions I will take into consideration!

Total Distance:
2.00km | 1.24mi

Starting Altitude:
191m | 627ft

Finishing Altitude:
59m | 194ft

Average Gradient: 6.6%

Elevation Loss: 132m | 433ft

Surface Type:
Smooth Bitumen / Asphalt (Not so smooth now)

Making headway with the legit race.

Now have someone who knows what they are doing with maps on the team!

There should be some activity with the council and police soon enough, if we can cause as much of a disturbance at once, they will give in eventually!!!!

I also need it on a day that the council office is open, pretty much the reason for the skate (that and to get the hype and stoke up!).

It would probably be better to have a group of older guys backing me than a ton of young guys too, purely for the idiotic council to see we are not 12 year olds being stupid.

When the full fledged race goes down (outlaw or legit) it will be on a holiday or weekend so we can get as many younger guys watching and racing as possible!

The only holiday in june is the queens b'day. You should change it! For all the people like me that are still in school!

Come along after 6 and watch if you can.  Look, learn, practice, shred!  Then help us get the council to co-operate!

Sounds like a great plan, but that could also lead to fines, you still have to provide your name and place of living to get pre-paid...
I'll be sending out more e-mails soon to try and get this sorted!

Tim, like you i can't find anyone willing to point me in the right direction with road closures here in brissie.  I think the quickest way to find out is to close another road with signs up to a pre-paid mobile number.  When the locals complain to their local member, he'll contact the correct department that will call that number.  We then have a contact for Mt Gravatt mountain race.  My best mate works in RTA in sydney and is the one who signs off on the road closures.  I wish he lived back here in brissie where he could assist us.

Damn right it's alive!  I'm drooling thinking of drafting people down those straights and into those corners!

You can not imagine how awesome it will be when it is haybaled, clean and the road is shut down!!!!
