no offence or anything Ian but i think you need a little bit more experience before heading down there... please dont take it the wrong way but you will be far away from any towns and the hills are very very long and fast, as much as i like to encourage people to jump into the deep end straight away there is also a big level of safety here. Its not that im saying your a bad skater what im trying to say is sometimes you need experience to be able to make snap decisions just in case your are faced with a dangerous problem (i.e traffic, getting up too much speed and unable to slow down, lack of strength to stay in control on long long hills). You need to spend more time riding with the crew and understand the basics of riding hills, going to far away alpine terrain isnt just bombing in the local hood, your starting to step up into more serious riding and its something you have to have respect for and have the knowledge and confidence you can handle yourself safely.
try and get to some of the downhill sessions with sydney crew or even link up with Benny and Jason on the coast, learn some stuff first and you will be able to mix it up with the best in no time. it all comes down to how much respect you have for your own safety and knowing your limitations

Grits
I May or may not be working on the Friday. (probably take it off)
Let me know what time you get in and i can pick you up. If i am working i will store your stuff and drop you off somewhere that may fill in some time for you untill i finnish work then we will head up the mountains.
Henry, Owen and the other Canberra boys may have some options for filling in time If I am working.
