Merrick,

you are not going to raise much money if you have to spend $64,000.00 for haybales before anything else comes out.

We really like the format we have now and think that it is a great weekend of riding without any pressure and we can operate with the locals we can conscript. Not too sure where I'd find enough marshalls, radios, etc, etc to run it as a race.

True, it'd be among the best races anywhere, but logistics really make it impractical.

Cheers

Jacko,

only you can afford enough wheels to actually do that on O'tangs (;-)> Look forward to seeing you here and getting some runs in together.

Merrick,

8,000 haybales @ $8 each, about 60 marshalls, and an absolute logistical nightmare. Besides, this has always been about raising money for cancer research while having a great time with mates and getting so many runs down a closed road that you can't walk for a week afterwards.

Cheers

Jacko,

GSE has nothing to do with BtB. We are running this event the same as we have the last 2 years except there is no SGS to allow more runs for everyone.

You have been to the last 2 BtB's, I thought you enjoyed them and you were certainly very complimentary of the event in your interview with Anton after 2009's.

I would like to repeat here what I said on the BtB website:

I am really looking forward to this year's ride. It has been an eventful year with all sorts of new and interesting developments within the combined sports that make up Gravity racing. There has been some interesting rivalry between the major sports within the group, but I am asking that those differences be put aside during the BtB weekend. If you have hate for a particular sport/rider/person please either sort it before you come or leave it at home. DO NOT BRING IT ONTO THE HILL. This event has a reputation of being one of the most fun filled rides anywhere and I don't want to see that spoiled by petty squabbles over the weekend. I, personally, am looking forward to riding with my mates whether they be lay downs, stand ups or sit ons and I hope there will be plenty of others who join us in mixed group rides.

Cheers

Hey folks,

If you have never been to BTB before and are thinking of going - do it!  It's seriously an unbelievably fun hill to ride.  I see the Bond brothers are out from WA, nice one!  They know the deal.  After skating Mt Keira and a few other hills it was great to earn my downhill chops at a place like Mt Stuart, trying (and failing) to keep up with the likes of Daddow and Leeso.

And you will have more runs than you can imagine.  It's like going to the snow, but better cos there are no lines! You just finish your run, get back in the ute, go back to the top and do it all over.  Super super fun.

So get your shit together and register and buy a flight to Townsville.  It will be one of the raddest skate weekends you ever have, seriously!
