Event Description

The ASRA AGM is open to all financial members of ASRA. If you are not a financial member, you can become one immediately prior to the meeting by filling in a form and paying the membership fee.

Membership is $30 for the first year, and then $10 per year after that.

Note that the meeting is scheduled for the morning after the final Conehead Cup Race, at the ASRA Clubhouse in Katoomba. This is the location for the previous night's Conehead Cup after-party, and I am assured there is plenty of room for people to stay the night at the Clubhouse, either sleeping on the floor, or pitching a tent in the grounds.

So where is it?

Oh yeah, it's on a very skateable hill apparently!

Pat my dream is to have a Keira race maybe its time to at least start the process, get an organising group together maybe see what some of these young sydney fellas can do rather than add more work for the same ASRA dudes and see if we can put a plan together and get things in motion.

Can you please make sure you post the meeting agenda, just so those of us in North Queensland who can't make it can have a say.

Its about 300m away. I had thought about having a race there and have inspected the track. I skated one downhill section then got attacked by a dog the whole place is a dog off leash mecca, the joint is like a relic of the 80's. You would need to give the council a good reason to repair a section cause at this stage they just seem to be letting nature take over and gradually eat the track. If it was smooth you might get a low grade downhill track, for slalom it would be a mecca - tight, hybrid, GS, SuperG dual lane all the way. The place has heaps of potential they just need to develop it. The government wouldn't give funding for the track to be fixed for motor racing but for youth facilities you might get a grant so long as its dual use (very similar to stromlo)

Think we should make this a serious event not like the riders meeting at NPG08, we need to get everyones feedback and start moving forward into a serious racing series and become a force to be reckoned with and put our sport on the map and in the publics face.
And hey Catalina raceway is at the other end of the street, be good to go check it out and have roll, maybe a good spot in the future to show off our sport

Katoomba is home of the hills. I can remember bombing many a few good ones in the area. I'm there for sure.
