It's a long wait between Race 1 and Race 2, but this should make up for it. We're looking at a fast single-lane hybrid-slalom jam session, and the location is spectacular. A gently winding road from the headland at Long Reef down to the car park, with the ocean on one side and a golf course on the other.

This will be Saturday night racing under lights, by the sea-shore!

For those unable to check out the venue in advance, bring your softer wheels as the road surface is not hot-mix. But don't worry - it's perfectly consistent and has good grip.

Alright, get your wiggle on! The 2008 Conehead Cup has got off to a bit of a slow start this year, but it's about to heat up.

Here are some details:

Practice and Registration: 6-7pm
Timed Racing: 7pm onwards

Proposed Divisions

A - the fast people
B - first-timers, beginners, and the not-so-fast people
Under 18s - self-explanatory
Womens - also self-explanatory, I hope.

Hopkin Racing are putting up some rad prizes, and SkaterHQ have been very generous with helping us set up the race.

Who are the favourites?

2007 Conehead Cup winner Haggy Strom is out with a broken clavicle, which leaves a big hole for somebody to step into. Jackson Shapiera will be back from Maryhill and will be hard to beat on his home turf of the northern beaches. Steve Daddow is still at Maryhill and will have to figure out a way to get down to Sydney from the Gold Coast. But fellow Gold Coaster Corey Leeson will be there. And the NACCOSS crew led by Paul Carey are always out in force.
