ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

so recently i have been sliding some 4's (the four skateboard company cruiser wheels they are white 70mm) and i really like them but they slide too much and when i do big power slides they ice and chatter. i was looking for some wheels that stay smooth controllable and predictable for relatively big checks and powerslides. suggestions? also what durometer ?

80a boootlegs sooo sick !

venom tweakers. smoothest, most controlled slide i've had.

80a otang thane :) Don't expect it to last long though. However the quietest smoothest wheels every ridden are: 78a pink powerballs and metro motions 78a - whisper quiet slides, fat thane lines

75a gripins, soooo smooth but wear away quickley

This will be your problem - wheels will generally either be icey and/or chattery and durable OR smooth/buttery and wear out quickly.

Retro classic urethane 78a or 81a will be very smooth - freerides, zigs, flashbacks

Lately I've been rocking these and they're amazingly smooth and predictable. Cheap as chips too. Just slightly smaller than I'd like, but 5mm isn't the end of the world....

I don't think I'll ever move past Early blueys.. buttery 180s and shed as much speed as 80a otangs when you want as well. Apart from being Australian they're easily the most versatile sliding wheel I've ridden

Early Blueys.

in my experience vaults are icey. ill keep my 4s for general riding then get a set for big slides so i dont mind if they wear quickly cos iv got like 20mm of thane left on my others

Stick with your 4's. they slide buttery, last for ages, and dont ice out. Oh and they are cheap as.

Also if your 4's are chattery you are doing it wrong.

Not these Vaults. Yes, the 83A wheels they make are as icy as an iceblock on an ice skating rink but the urethane couldn't be more different in the wheels I linked. It's like an even more buttery version of ABEC11 classic.

They wear pretty fast, but then, they're a third of the price of most wheels. Well worth trying.
