The wheels are out now and they are 75mm tall with a 70mm contact patch. They are available in 80a and 83a. Please go to www.skatebig80.com and select retailers and find them in a store nearest to you.
They are a lot wider and much grippier, and more for racing and slalom than any other wheels.
The silverfish stuff was a friend of mine njbryant and he scammed some people and everyone thought that seeing that I am friends with him, I must be a scammer also. so therefore I got screwed for picking bad people to be friends with. the trucks come complete hangers only for only $125 usd. they dot turn much and are really stable at hight speeds
These wheels are available from the Hop Shop, biggest contact patch available on the market. I think the cost relates to the fact it requires the oil of 3 humpback whales to pour enough urethane to make a wheel with a contact patch that big.
I asked Jesse to post up here. ASRA is a longboarding and racing community and he is a up and coming designer/manufacturer of wheels and skate gear. I would like to see more manufacturers and suppliers start threads. It is a good way to get feedback from skaters, also give other local skateshops and distributors lurking here to find out what is new on the market, who to contact to get this stuff in. It also gives skaters the chance to ask questions and find out about new products in the pipeline.
Thanks Jesse for joining ASRA, and posting up, I appreciate the support.
And regarding the price, it is a wait and see game. If mini momo's come out at $150, these are going to look cheap. I can tell you they cost me $20 more to buy than durians and they are a little over $20 more expensive to you the skater.
There are going to be plenty of people testing these in the next few weeks. Who cares what the price is if they are fast. Imagine you are in your tightest tuck and someone cruises past you on Big80's, damnn wish I had not saved $30 :-).
