Hawaii Trip - Feb....
So I went to Hawaii last year and rode some ridiculous hill on my Dirtsurfer. And was thinking about going again.
Just throwing out a potential skate trip out there in 6 months or so. A week in Feb - Sat 13/02 - Sat 20/02.
The cost breakdown:
Flight: Sydney - Honolulu return Jetstar = $930
Flight: Honolulu - Kahului return = $115
Daily car hire = $60 (which would obviously be minimal with a full car of people)
Average daily accom ~ $110-150. (again could be cheaper with more people)
1 week seshing Oahu and Maui will probably be somewhere around the $2500-3000 pricemark.
It could be possible to shack up with some local skaters, I believe the scene there is pretty good, from talking to a few guys when I visited last year.
Mt. Haleakala is totally worth it. Hands down the best thing I have ever ridden down in my life.

If you look on the satellite view, where the little green house is, is where it gets really good.
Heres a sped up version of someone bombing it.
Speeds of over 80kmph are easily achievable I'd say. I cruised it and was clocked around 45miles.
There is also a new moon on the 14/02 which would be insane to ride it at night. And is apparently safer due to less traffic.
The tour buses run bike rides down the mountain after sunrise so it can get a bit busy in the morning. I rode mid-arvo and it was quiet.

Maui rocks!! Honolulu has turned into a giant designer clothing store,... but Maui is STILL the REAL Hawaii!
My wife and I went there last year, and just loved it. She is so desperate to go back. :)

We saw it from a helicopter.
That was in fact more terrifying than skating!! hahahaaa
Nah man,... it was a holiday holiday,.. not a skate holiday.
I didnt take my board, helmet and leathers, we shopped and took back excess luggage. I wasnt allowed to go there with extra bags.
Id heard it was good,... but I dont think I could handle that run, Im not hardcore enough.
Im working on it tho!!! :)

haha i went on holiday for 6 months and convinced the missus to let me take the board to ride maui and san fran. i mailed it to houston so my parents could take it back to perth the next time they went haha.
she also bought a suitcase and filled it up, women and their shopping!!
