ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

OK folks, we're back after just a three-day break. The ASRA team has landed in Bathurst, and despite advance warnings of how cold it is we've still been surprised - it's brutally cold. My first task here was to buy some fingerless gloves and a very attractive hat:

Once suitably warmed we got settled into our luxury digs before heading out for some twilight mini-ramp action at the festival site. It's a 6' ramp, so more of a maxi-mini really, and it took its toll with Trav and Haggy taking some hard slams.

A blurry Trav heads for the coping, while Haggy, Blackwood, Pete and the Van of Love look on

Yes, it was cold up there. Bring your woolies. See you tomorrow. Rider check-in starts at midday at the Flannery Skillset Centre.

Norman's safety meetings are slightly different to the traditional sort.

Patrick Switzer delivers the message, while PC looks on

Racing has begun! First heat:

Christoph Batt 1
Sam Dalton (J) 2
Ishtar Bäcklund (F) 3

Patrick Switzer is off getting breakfast and doesn't have his leathers on, but is due on track to race. Will he DQ and have to go through the repechage?

Switzer does the Clark Kent quick change and wins his heat.

Dani and Addison crash in Gabe's heat, so it looks like Ian Coggan will go through in 2nd.

Cam Kite vs Jayden Mitchell. Grudge match?

Cam gets his revenge. But both go through for another round.

It was super close, where does jaydos get that final burst from?

Benbro takes it too easy between Dipper and Forest, and Matt Rae sneaks past, and then Cooper gets a fast line through Forest to get in his draft...but Benbro finally drafts and passes Matt before the finish, with Cooper third.

Matt Boortman crashes hard, and we're having a break while the medics do their thing.

Pwarrrr sounds like a heat an a half there

Track is green - we're back on.
