ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

OK, it isn't quite live yet, but the ASRA crew plus other volunteers have arrived, and we're busy setting up here at the Scout Camp. Tomorrow we'll be busy with last minute stuff, plus rider check-in which starts at midday.

It's wet, and the forecast is for the rain to continue until Thursday night. After that it should be mostly clear.

There's a lot of wildlife here - possums, deer, bush turkeys, lyrebirds and the most common of all - leeches. This place is seriously crawling with leeches - salt is supposedly the thing to ward them away.

A friendly leech outside our front door

See you all tomorrow at rider check-in.

This first round of the repechage is taking forever. Too many spectators wandering all over the track.

Are there not enough marshalls to keep people off?

I'm not sure - we have a lot of marshalls, but we also have a lot of spectators today.

In the downtime I put together the Juniors results.

Top 10:

1 Jayden Mitchell (J) 120.017
2 Chris O'Brien (J) 121.635
3 Michael Mifsud (J) 121.726
4 Liam Bemrose (J) 122.282
5 Caspian Baska (J) 122.618
6 Quin Finocchio (J) 123.755
7 Dylan Baddeley (J) 126.438
8 Sam Dalton (J) 126.919
9 Ted Dwyer (J) 127.792
10 Harry Oman (J) 128.823

Kelly Carter is back from hospital and missed his repechage race, so he's knocked out of the Opens, but will race tomorrow in the Juniors.

Re the marshalls/spectators thing - the issue is that many of the marshalls are quite young and don't have sufficient grey hair and authority to turn back a pack of rampaging spectators. But we're fixing it.

Saw one total muppet of a spectator pull a haybale off the track to rest his foot on to take a photo. Not from the top of the gene pool, that one......

Repechage final four:

Will Morphett
Jack Glenn (J)
Dejan Djukic (J)
Mikael "kula" Jensen

They all go into the finals tomorrow. Repechage final still to be run, just to determine who gets 61st seed etc..

Great work Bugs & the whole ASRA team. Thanks for keeping us up to date on the action.

Go Jack Glenn.

Best of luck to all the riders & officials tomorrow.

GO JAYDEN!

You're rippin' you fckn grommet!!

Of course I want to see him win juniors,.. but he is kicking ass in the opens!

My down load speed sucks tomight, will have to down load them Monday

cheers

Good morning!. It's a bright sunny day here at Keira, but quite cold and breezy. The track is 90% dry, with the only really wet part Carnage Corner from yesterday, so there'll continue to be some carnage today, at least for a while. We're just waiting for the first practice run to begin here...all the riders milling around the start line drinking coffee and talking about who they've got in the draw.

Race 10 is going to be intense- Lessman, Luca, Dalua and Daddow

Good luck to everyone today. If the time trials were as exciting as they looked yesterday,... the actual racing today will be insane!

who's racing first? groms?
