ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

ok so we already got a few spots under the belt for some serious downhilling around sydney (we all know where they are no point in advertising to the world =]) if anyone has any more spots they think might be sussed out i think its time to get those hills ridden... i for one am going to check out Galston rd this thursday, it has like 6 or 7 hairpins and some fast straights and from the shots i saw on google maps 'street level' the road surface looks good...

Today somebody mentioned to me that Wakehurst Parkway is a good spot, and freshly re-paved.
ive thought about that one alot but it is so mega busy, all day, every day... the only times you might be able to skate it is at night... but theres no street lights...
otherwise you would have to be going the same speed as the cars (80k's, constantly) but next time i drive through there i'll check it out. its pretty local
Allambie Road, Allmbie hieghts, Northern beaches, 1am on weekends, the beaches is hell quiet at that time, hey it got the seal of approval from Darryl Freeman when we took him there last time he was here
Good for luge too.

Jackson, i had an uncle that lived in galston when i was a kid, that road is insane!!!! hairpin after hairpin its like a bloody car commercial!! If you skate it FILM IT!!!

Not in sydney but up my way check this place out "captain cook bicentenary road north brother NSW" in google street level, nice and long, steep and big corners.
went to galston yesterday, the road looked sooo gnarly but so much fun... couldnt really skate it coz there was so much traffic and the corners were blind, but one day it shall be done... on the other hand we drove up the other side of the gorge, and that road was pretty sweet, nice and long, good speed, good surface, has a few good turns here and there. nice mellow hill to play on. i'll put up a vid soonish
This might be a resource for possible race venues around the place

you can street level the courses
add sydney park to this bugs took me there this week a couple of good corners to session i could do this place again great fun we must have done the same heelside corner 30 times eachh time trying to push into the corner that little bit harder to see how far you could drift and then walk about 30 seconds and do it again there are a few faster corners with bonus points for hitting dogs bloody things were everywhere
Hi guys,
recently we discovered that Lansdowne Park at Bankstown ( Bankstown Cycle clubs circuit track ) has been re surfaced and is smooth as!! it has a nice run about 600m long with a nice blind corner!
It is the width of two car lanes, but is in a park so there are no cars and you hit speeds of 60kmph on the GPS. This would also make a great track for an event as it has good sections for all disciplines, Dunnies etc. It is permanantly hired by Bankstown Cycle club but is a public park so you just goota make sure your not there when they have a bike meet. It is a blast on the luge so probably more of a hoot standup! Also there is a bike track At Fairfield City Farm in Western Sydney Regional Park it has probably one of the raddest right hand turns hard to stick but extremely good practice track. start at the Farm Carpark and walk all the way to the top.
These are only bike tracks and may sound pretty lame but they are still the best two I have found in Sydney without having to drive down the gong. I'll try them on luge but not game on a board!!
