ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

So, longboarding/downhill skating is becoming more and more of a followed sport now days. Watching Win sport on the internet streamed live really brought that home. People all cheering for their favourite riders, their favourite teams and staying up to un godly hours of the morning to watch the action and find out the results. Although it's still

Pretty simple question, who's your favourite skater(s) in the longboarding world? Who floats your boat, who inspires, who makes you wanna ride with their particular style? International or Aussie, young or old, ''pro'' or bro...

Anyone who skates uphill gets my vote!

I would like add Paul Kent to my list too, speaking of skating uphill. He's a sic Kent and seems like a genuine bloke!

josh evans...Ash D, most of the sydney crew i guess. on the international level, Mischo and Dalua,, Pswiss.

The groms of Radelaide are always fun to skate with, but Dani, Bow and Matty Leadfoot are my favourites. The first other longboarder Bow and I met when we started back in late 2007 was Leadfoot. Those weekly sessions were the beginning of what quickly became more than a hobby for all of us and soon after that we met Dani who was just as keen. I consider the four of us the OG's of Adelaide and still nothing compares to the stoke we shared together in those early days.

Jacko was the first interstater we met when he visited the following year. He really inspired and motivated me big time and without his help I would never have seen and skated the stuff I have since then. Can't thank him enough, even if he is a massive "C". Yatesy also deserves as much props for the Canada trip we shared last year. Every roadtrip needs an "Adam Yates" in it.

Benbro however is my favourite interstate skater. Can't not like the guy really and other than K-Rimes, his style and control blows me away.

As for skaters overseas - K-Rimes, James Kelly, P-Swiss, Evren Ozan, Louis Pilloni, Mercado and Liam Morgan are the ones who inspired me to work on my stye and technique. That aspect of my skating is something that I only discovered after skating and travelling with them last year in Canada and the US. Big turning point in my skating and for the better. Travelling is "the shit".

wow, maybe i should tell you all my life story.

I really like myself
Myself does what he wants when and where, sometimes
just a cool dude in my opinion

Write an essay Leigh! Nah, nice one! Yea, those early days were the shit! Skating and walking up Eagle each day with Matty in his leathers. Jacko coming down and showing us that Eagle actually goes waaay up past the servo and showing us that you can skate close and draft on a skateboard. Those were good days!

All the members of Mandonkey (including Bradley who doesnt even really skate)
Jesse Tighe (england, this kid is MADE of skate)

locally, Inzane, joshie, arbi, wingers, myles, the CHAD, the horde of grommets, steve daddow and monkypig because of the endless stoke and progressive skating but internationally i'm not too sure... People like james kelly and louis pilloni skate mega rad but then theres jimZ, niko, darrly freeman and who ever else taught daddow how to haul ass because he taught me!

Interstate, everyone i have shredded with and shared the stoke with, all my fellow groms in radelaide like grombards and geoffrey, then there is leigh and bow who i can't skate enough with cause they always push me, then there is Dani especially cause he was the first dude who invited me out and i thank him heaps for that! Then theres the dudes like benbro, and cam wicked cunts and always stoked, also ian mcglynn and some of the boys from qld like english, wingers an miles!

Then the over seas dudes would have to be, luois pilloni, p-swiss, g-mack and krimes!

Ozzis

Big bad bowditch. Cos he shreds hard and skates safe and is just a sick dude in general.

Too many killa vanilla ozzies out there. good to meet some at collingrove and being able to skate with them before.

But gabe is a steezy as fool.

Overseas n shit would be people like Patrick switzer for his dominating racing lines.

James kelly and louis pilloni are some sick shredders and interesting filmers.

Owen from here in the capital ;D

But for overseas I reckon James Kelly or Russ Druckrey.

P-Swiss and matt arderne.... both awesome skaters. Kelly and K-Rimes are also super...
