ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

ok, so what happened on sunday? why is there nothing on here even mentioning it? i forgot all about it until the day after it happened, plus i'm pretty green so.. maybe next year. but please, pics, vids, anything? i'm puzzled why no-one seems to be pushing this event when the broadway bomb in NYC gets bigger and awesomer every year. surely this thing could be something similiar? imagine a thousand riders taking over the sydney CBD.

Given the type of event it is, don't expect masses of video and photos posted online...

And if you forgot about it and did a no-show.....too bad?...

biggest load of dribble... there was plenty of hype before the event, yet barely any showed. including yourself.

It was wet and at night, and its not an event that has photographer lining the streets to capture the action. there was footage, sure, but it has to be edited first before it can be made into a video...

why complain about 'no exposure' when you didnt even show up? how can you say no one is pushing this sort of event? we've held one annually for 3 years in a row now... you cant say no one was mentioning it when clearly they were, you just dont know how to look, obviously

yeah, as i said, i'm a relative newbie and i'd rather get more experience before tangling with city traffic, thanks. i promise i will be there next year.  i was just commenting on why it doesn't seem to be taking off in the way the broadway bomb is, despite it's obvious potential.

i would hardly call it 'hype'. wasn't even on the home page.

It's a completely different event. Broadway Bomb is more like Critical Mass or Reclaim The Streets. Cannonball is a dash for cash and notoriety.

We need both. I'm all for a BB-style event at another time of the year.

Tell you what - I found footbraking, sliding and riding switch were sketchy as in the wet!

I'll bet it was even worse for you boys who were skating....

yeah, fair enough. like i said, i'll be there next year, but some, like me, don't really care about competition so much. just thinkin it would be cool to have an event like the BB in sydney. when i searched for this topic i saw that people were referring to the cannonball as sydney's version of it.

nah dude, cannon ball run is not sydney's version of anything. its its own event. push race through the city, not about taking over the traffic its about BEING the traffic and getting from point A to point B quick as fuck for dollar.

it was made as an event, what more do u want? there was info about how it was gonna go down, thats all u need.
