very similar case to the willunga boys. youre only skating with due care when you start to cut your lane but eagle is usually deserted so it safe to

true true and true bikers have less protective gear than DH riders and have the higher accident toll so why not target them ay? its like racism of sports!

One thing that i would like to know is if you guys were cutting corners?
Cops over your way seem to try and pick apart everything possible to make you look bad, would be a good idea to keep in your lanes when filming (not saying you did or didn't). that way, when they start to review the footage to build a case of 'due care' they have nothing and you can even use that video as evidence in your favour!
And matty, i'm with you, petition, e-mail, protest... Anything and everything. Get every skater to the court on the court date and voice your opinion for all to hear out the front.
Sick of this 'don't do that, you may hurt yourself' babying by the government and police mentality. If someone wants to ride a bike at 80km/h wearing only a helmet and lycra (tour de france) they are regarded as an amazing athlete, but when someone is on a skateboard with a helmet and gloves, sometimes knee and elbow pads or leathers, they are lunatics. If a biker wants to ride on the highway in shorts and t-shirt, yeah, go on, but if you are training to be a professional downhill skateboarder, no, you go to court for it... Get your brains functioning... Stop being a burden on society and start serving the people and not yourselves. To the select few police officers that do their job properly, good on you, but for those who don't, quit and make the world a better place

Fact - Planking is statisticly more dangerous than downhill skateboarding...

And skittle he caught us in our own lane but footage will show us cutting lanes, but it's not really cutting, eagle has 2 lanes downhill and then a median strip then one lane up the other way, we use the right hand lane but always look behind, the footage will show myself looking backwards anytime we went to switch lanes though so hopefully that works in our favour.

It occurred to you that i didn't say i WOULD hit them? Wanting to is not the same as doing, sure they can give me maybe a warning or fine for planning to injure them but where is the proof of a plan? Nadda, zip and zilch to tell me about here.

I want to hit them...... Bloody took the camera too!! Gosh. Did they take your boards?

You cant cut corners at the Eagle Tim. The place has 2 lanes going down and one going up divided by an Island.

i dont think they understand "riders are advised to use designated skate parks" hahaha

Yeah, they may try and use that, i know the road now. Definately an argument both ways about due care in video evidence, but both lanes are going the same way.
Keep me in the loops, my ability to pester is amazing, just ask arbi!
Also, might be able to link it into a news story if the reporter is still keen to do a segment on it, will send her through the link.

no joke, why should we be regarded as lunatics or freaks by the public when they are basically the same thing as us but with less wheels and brakes. If we are trying to promote a sport, we need safe places like eoth which is separated by the main road (freeway) and with minimal traffic and that arent illegal.

Yes Alexander its senselessly intolerant. And incredibly short sighted.

The cops are after citations. They are filing the complaint. In what Mr Bastard said. Street fight where 15 people beat up one dude..... its on camera.

"..... if no-one issues a complaint,.... we cant do anything...."

Hipocracy, and fascism. Enforcing authority, not sanity or security.

High level bullies. Passport to comfiscate gear too? They could have put the fucking memory stick in their damn car and downloaded the video, but they stole the evidence from you to use against you.

Plus you ain't got your camera.  WTF?? Why do they have power to confiscate legal belongings?

I really liked how thay stated the speed of the riders, then told everyone the exact spot that they were skating and then again incase anyone missed it.  It's like going to a kid, don't buy this album, it has swear words on it, you can find it a JB-HI and Sanity at your local shopping centre... but don't buy it!

some good news on the changing lanes front, in south australia the laws only require you to indicate long enough to signal your intentions to surrounding traffic. that means if there was no traffic in your downhill lane when you were changing lanes you are not required to indicate and therefore are not riding without due care!

Well that is bloody good to know
