Took the swiss luge rider Damo their after Newtons, he went off after the third corner. He didnt ride it again.
Ive probably ridden it the most, along with Troy and Adam..I think ive retired from riding there. Its super fast. Dangerous and requires extreme fitness. On hard breaking your still doing 60kph...you cant actually stop.
We have Dickos rock, Damos launching corner...not sure we need another section named after a persons accident.
Wish you well :)
Nah he busted them on the 1st run at Falls creek. He was our driver from then on. heheh When he got to Baw BAw he said he was glad he busted his ankles and was happy he didnt ride it LOL. A week long riding of all the biggest hills, 20+km of Mt Buffalo he missed the lot.
Always good to see the overseas pros struggle on our home turf...no not really but was a little humerous.
See Damian on you tube i was filming. Missed the crash as i nearly joined him. But a good laugh afterwards

I rode this hill about 6 years ago - sickness it is! Average grade of 13% for 6 km, with steeper sections. Really don't think its that suitable for standup, just too bloody steep with corners all the way - would be a constant footbrake effort basically . . . the luge guys are having trouble slowing down enough and they can brake better. It was kind of fun to do on the blades but just hard turns all the way, grinding wheels big time.

I guess it do don't it! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying its not doable, but a challenge is exactly what it is. In my experience, most stand-up riders don't enjoy having to brake constantly. I guess some may like sliding parts of it, but really, there's probably better places to go for sliding, the surface ain't perfect and its a long drive in.
