ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Heading up to Cairns for a few weeks soon.

Wanted to know places to skate any good hills up that way etc?

Is their any ASRA members living up that way as well?

Thanks Carl,

I should be coming up to watch BTB this year with hubby and the kids.

Would be great to meet you all then.

Oh forgot to ask is it Just skaters in Townsville or are their some Luges as well??
GOFR is based here and we regularly have 6 to 8 riders of luge each Sunday (;-)>

Townsville has some serious regular lugers aka the GOFR crew.

A few of them mix it up to and do standup, plus there is a growing longboard scene in townsville as well.

There is always the wednesday night strand cruise as well. Its a good way to get through the week.

Up cairns way there is Dave Kelly, and Pete Kullenberg.

Pete's an awesome gbiker, and dave rides both downhill standup and luge really well.

As carl has mentioned there are some pretty gnar hills on the tablelands and on the ranges all around cairns.

There is another road called copperlode dam, its a lot mellower than some of those other ranges, but still take care in riding it as it is narrower than a standard road and unmarked.

If you put any of the names of the roads into youtube you are more than likely to find some videos of the hills.

Cheers

Thanks for all the info and catch you all on the hill
