ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hi guys,

I'm after a bit of advice here. Every time I'm practising some crazy slides and my board goes flying at 30kph, there is ALWAYS a car / bike / old lady / kid / dog / ... that appears out of nowhere :-/ I've already had a deck snapped in halves by a car last year. I'm sick of this.

Also, I can't go very far because I don't have a car. Does anyone know of any quiet hills close to Brisbane west/north that I can reach with public transport? I've heard west of the Mount Coo-Tha / Ashgrove might be an option.

Any ideas?

Hey Lance!
I live in Bardon, but I can meet you anywhere in town if it's more convenient. Yeah if if you and Josh are out for a skate I'm super keen. Thanks for the offer.
I'll see you next Friday anyway at the garages; sounds like it's going to be a big one.

Yeah thanks Arbi... but Mount Gravatt is kind of south east of the city so quite the opposite to where I live :-/

for info I found pretty amazing run, brand new pavement, in a very quiet street. It is still a bit steep for me but I'm hoping to do it soon when I control my slides better. Anyway, if you want a good thrill try Findlay St, onto Grant St in Ashgrove.

any more ideas?

findlay street looks good man, i'll come for a ride when you're up for it. there's a really nice run near my place too, Tristania drive. there's a big hill on the first half of the street but the rest is great
