To current Sydney Riders
I'm over from the UK and have recently got into longboarding..
I know basics, but want to get into it more and get a few tips etc..
It'd be cool to meet up with some more experienced riders so they can impress/inspire me and hopefully give me a few pointers.

This Sunday is Downhill in the Park. Details here:

Perfect place to talk to people, and get tips and inspiration. And ride down some fairly mellow hills.
Or you could throw yourself into the unknown by coming along to Hyde Park at 5:45pm tomorrow night for a skate over the bridge.

Hi Rube, it's the north end of Hyde Park, at the Archibald Fountain. Look for the couple of hundred cyclists milling about.
Which bridge? Ha ha, the big one that goes over the harbour. The one that's in all the postcards. Should be a bit of a hoot.

Is this bike / longboard thing something like Critical Mass? Taking back the streets from fume-spewing motorists?
So I'll be in Sydney probably from around New Year's Eve until January 9 or so. Anything going on with you guys and boards or just you guys? I'd love to meet some locals while I'm there.

Yeah, last Thursday was Critical Mass, the one month of the year when they ride over the bridge (usually illegal), and the idea was to tag along with the bikes. But it pissed down.
Maybe see you in January....
