That is actually my next investment... As soon as i have enough money/can work in a sponsorship with Sony... One day i will have one. As long as it meets the requirements (can take hectic shock/vibrations from the road when using board cam)
thats weird that it does that. usually auto exposure adjusts to suit the light that fills over half of the frame and in that video the sky consumes about 40% at the most. It also seems really slow at adjusting. Its interesting that you don't have that problem with the GoPro or POV, when its obvious that this one gives better image quality.
Yeah it does have great reviews and for just a normal youtube cam its perfect, but when im at an IGSA race and filming a run for a video, and there happens to be a bit of cloud or shaddow and the auto contrast screws with it and focuses on the sky, then im screwed... Its actually a really good camera and i recommend buying one but for my videos i need my cameras to be working and be 100% reliable at all times, im going to get a VIO POV1.5 because i know that it will work 100% of the time even if the quality is a little less...
here is an example of the contrast issue ive had: http://www.vholdr.com/video/downhill-skateboarding-nsw
that was on the weekend at pump station, the crew can tell u that there was some cloud but it wasnt as bad as the video makes it seem. The POV will easily be able to get a good balance of contrast and i have put it through worse conditions and got a much better result.
Apart from all that this camera is amazing, and you will get extremely good pictures on a sunny day, and will definately be a much better investment than a GoPro
