Jacko on Mt Stuart from Jackson Shapiera on Vimeo.

Free riding Mt Stuart in Townsville, Australia. This was one of the best free ride events (or any event) i have ever attended. Big props to all the organizers for giving us such an epic hill and great vibes

Slow Down! That was a group run, or was it. Great ride and great style to Jacko.

it is the new footbrake when it coomes to cornering, but you still need to be able to quickly slam your foot down when you need to.

speedchecks and drifts are the new footbreaks...
Half way through the first day i ripped my footbreak off my shoe so it wouldnt peel my griptape, just went with Raw shoe sole, was way more controlled...

i got technical and pulled the data off my GPS to really understand the hill. The first straight is the fastest part, i got a max speed of 72ks there, then coming into the first lefty the speed drops down to the high 50's then in the apex of that first right im doing around 43k's... The next straight i got up to the high 50's then around the next left hander the speed drops down to low 50's then when i drift around the next right hander the speed drops all the way down to 39k's. From then on the speed never gets over 70 and hangs around the mid-to-high 60's for the rest of the run.
The hill itself is not very fast at all, its the fact that the corners are fast and there is always acceleration, and theres heaps of shit going on left right and centre that keeps your eyes open like dinner plates the whole way down
