Where are the parents ??? The parents are on the hills skating these days with the kids. That is so anti social, and is far from a family sport.
Parents, work extra hard and longer hours so you can buy your kids the best in play stations and keep your kids safe at home... Don't let them out into what was your playground back in the day. If they ban skating on the street then what would they call street skating ?
Skating is way safer than the pub and clubs.

Turned out good; but pleeeeease tell me someone is about to give the council a thought out planned proposal of how to forward downhill on the goldy and everyone isn't sitting on their butts waiting for someone else to do it!!
John Wayne is about to start on a campaign to close "problem" skate parks on the Goldy beginning with Discovery Drive and we have been the only people to raise an objection. Close the skateparks and welcome short boards to the streets in numbers.
Why don't we do it? quite simply we were about to release a piece about what we are doing at Newton's but as was pointed out to us when asked who we treat on the Gold Coast we have to reply, apart from Kurt, who we sponsor we treat no Gold Coast skaters, Brisbane and further North travel to us and across the boarder in NSW on a regular basis but no Gold Coast skaters and only two Goldy skaters signed up for Newton's sports package; we have no DH credibility with the council. So who has the proposal or are we right where we were last year and the year before?

How is this any more dangerous then people riding bikes at break neck speeds in lycra and a pissy bike helmet.
People really need to wake up, most parents support their kids skateboarding, I know I do.

Go to a place where there is a facility to legally train for the sport... Isn't that the issue?

Heating up on the East coast, things could get interesting. Nice one Steve! We are all behind you.
