well a DH board steers more from the front than the back but you cant really notice much difference because its easy to get a feel for. being lower its easier to push and footbreak and thats pretty much it. if the weathers good on thursday it looks like ill head up there for a session from about 9.30
can you make it? if not tell me the days your free and well work around it

nah the only longboards around here are stock sector 9's in surf shops. theres a shop in QLD that have speedboard decks for around $200 delivered which is a good price. let me know when your gonna buy one and ill get you his email. as far as speedboards go you cant go wrong with the landyachtz evo. thats what i ride and absolutely love it. trucks, wheels, bushings and bearings are gonna set you back about another $200 so $400 and you've got a kickass speedboard
i could lend you trucks, wheels and bearings (good ones too) if you wanna buy the deck and trucks in separate payments.
go to www.daddiesboardshop.com and have a look at the longboard decks. go to rayne and landyachtz. kebbek are sick boards but hard to get over here. choose the decks you like and tell me and ill give you the low-down on each one. dont buy from US as shipping kills you.
so yeah have a look and tell me which decks you like

there isnt much here that i would describe as tame and if they are they are too short. the way i got comfortable at speed was to just go as hard as i could, but thats not for everyone and ive had some pretty hard spills from it, so yeah. theres a place in the blue mountains that have sessions planned every now and then. that would be the best place to get used to the speed because its blocked off to traffic. ill let you know when the next session comes up. you also might want to invest is a pure downhill board.. makes it a lot easier. let me know if you want to spend the $$$ and ill help you choose a setup thats right for you.

nah man i dont head out that way much so never seen it. the wollongong hospital carpark is probably the best carpark i've skated so yeah check that out if you got the time. let me know whenever you wanna have a go at downhill ill show you some sick runs
