The Skate Australia documentary has taken a long and hard journey, with blood, sweat and tears shed. Anthony Fricker who was the tremendously passionate director of Skate Australia, died on the 2nd of August 2009 in a downhill skateboarding accident while filming for his documentary. The Longboard community was struck with shock and grief. Anthony’s family wished for his legacy to live on with his dream project Skate Australia. So it was decided that someone had to finish his dream…

The film was still at a very early stage of post production and there were only two people with enough knowledge of the project to finish it. The Swedish twin brothers Jonatan & Sebastian Lundmark from Dampling Productions, who had been working closely with Anthony Fricker during the project. Three weeks after the funeral they took over the entire production and dedicated a whole year to finishing Skate Australia for their beloved and greatly missed friend Anthony.

Jonatan & Sebastian have also produced a 7 minute documentary ‘steep descent’. A very touching and insightful back-story regarding the circumstances around Anthony’s death.

So i was thinking if its showing in Brisbane 11th September And Canberra on the 11th Sept why not have it in Sydney on the same date? I know lots of people who can't make it to Brisbane and Canberra Due to all the racers coming up. let me know what you think. I have a venue in Kings Cross.

There will be a screening in Sydney, but don t know the exact date yet. We are organizing a big screening together with Hopkin. So it will take some time to sort out all the details. Stay tuned Sydney Skaters!

What a great day and build up to the film; a real community turn out. We had to come away after the movie our kids are exhausted....but Malik has requested we watch again in the morning.
This is what its all about and well captured in Skate Australia
