If you are close to Clayton, Contact Katie C she is new also, and is enjoying getting into it, and is also looking others to skate with.
If you are close to Frankston, contact Leah .she started skating parks, but now is ripping it up as a slalom racer, and is happy to do a casual skate on Sundays.
For learning, Fawkner Park is really cool to skate in, because the paths are wide and smooth, with a range of gradients from steep to almost flat. Every so often, we do slalom sessions there on Sundays. (let us know if you are interested and we can let you know when the next session is on....you don't have to race!)
Jells Park is another good spot for a roll, good smooth paths, and gentle to steep gradients.
Just a tip on Melbourne Parks....if the name of the park has the word "garden" in it, they don't permit skaters. if it has the word "park" in it, then skating is OK.
actually give me a ring soon, i have been skating some really learner friendly stuff with a mate and his girlfriend on a regular basis during the week, she is just getting into long boarding and so is he, we normally skate in collingwood near the children's farm and its great fun
