A pun, or paronomasia, is a form of word play that deliberately exploits an ambiguity between similar-sounding words for humorous or rhetorical effect.

What you have just said is not a pun. It was you taking the meaning of ''stirring the pot'' literally.

A pun is something like ''“On TV it's a maze of channels, luckily he had a guide.” or ''Before a mother knows the sex of her baby it's a hidden agender.''
