yes Robbo i agree with your second (shorter) post
about the skitching always being viewed as illegal. good point
but i think we can end it here
we all have different opinions, some are FOR, some are AGAINST
but its how we get our "kicks"

look if you want to skitch cars and buses than go ahead the worlds a free place. Maybe just avoid posting the pics and videos of you doing it on ASRA. 3 weeks ago a video was posted on ASRA of the Bomb Squad skitching on a Police car through the city, If thats how you get your kicks than thats fine. Just maybe avoid telling the 11 year olds on ASRA that its cool. The older fellas dont do things cause they see it on a video but the young fellas do. The reason I comment about these things is because I am part of the ASRA organisation that administrates the website and the sporting association behind it so we have a bigger balancing act than the average punter who just signs up to our website and posts pics of their fuzzy boards and coned out wheels. Its not like silverfish, things on this site kinda reflect on the part of ASRA that isn't the website. It kinda makes us look a bit silly when we lobby the government and the media with what is already a tough argument when we have videos on our site of people skitching police cars. Elliot If you click on the 'About ASRA' tab and see what our public position is maybe you will understand what the few of us that run ASRA have to balance

you set plenty of good examples to bro ,...somthing ive always stressed to more inexpierienced guys is to kno your boundarys and limitations.....no heros....do what we say dont do what we do just yet!! longevity is the key to greatness not being a temporary hero......so if you are not capable of doing what you think is cool, dont do it......work up to it,learn it....make your own decisions on what is safe for you, dont be asheep and do it coz a cool dude did it...on the other side of the coin.....robbos last comment is spot on and should be stated somewhere on here permanetly......content put on here has asra's name on it,and is one of the few ways outsiders can access our culture and make assumptions about who we are based on this......do what u like, but think a bit about what we put up.......its a balancing act,........an asra members code of conduct might be a good one.,.....wat not to do in public,

As Robbo notes, there is a political facade (which includes this website) required to be presented when we (ASRA) lobby governments to close roads and get new events, or lobby corporations for sponsorship of those events, or when the media contact Haggy for his comments on the sport. (It sucks having maintain a facade when you really are not like that, but that's politics for ya)

Jacko questioned "should we stop being creative and pushing limits......" NEVER
Think about getting creative when posting these types of images also.
(google "sarcasm" now)
If that image had the caption "Law Breakers attempting to F#&K it up for everyone" , with comments supportive of the caption, we would all be able to appreciate the image (and the sacastic comments), while at the same time be able to use the website for lobbying governments, as an organisation that promotes road safety.

So to all those skitchers pictured, next time you idiots want to try out for the Darwin Awards, do it on scooters ! (insert winking emoticon)

Regarding the ASRA site being used politically... where do you draw the line? Seriously if stuff like this is going to be such a problem, remove it and while you're at it remove anything not Racing associated and maybe give a members only area for people to share stuff like this...
you either sensor it, or let it be; not let it be and then whine about it....

Trav you may not be aware but we already provide private features on the site that allow you to post videos and photos in a private way so that just certain friends or group members can see things or have certain discussions. These features have always been on the site the problem is that everybody want to broadcast themselves in the most public way about everything they do. The area of the ASRA website that has the most traffic is the 'Taking the Eoth' group this was a public group but was turned into a private group because of a series of bad media stories and controversies sourced from the content and information provided by members on our site. The features to be private or members only about things has always been available its just that most people don't want to keep things private with the exception of the SA boys
