Forget the clamps, I just use a bunch of electrical tape wrapped around the shoe/sole - works really well to keep every part of the sole pressed against the shoe.

Big rock grip tape like gator or the new jessup longboard tape sticks to it fine. I got car tyre on my back foot now and I will never go back. Go to the tyre shop and ask to look in there scrap heap look for a worn down sport tyre then get in to it. Get a mate to help and cut out a few at once and you will probably never need to do it again till the top of your shoe fals apart.

Robert got it, it's from clark rubber, wouldn't use it now though, just car tyre.  It's bulky, restrictive and that is only good for downhill... and it wears out fast at high speed...

If you want cruzing flexy stuff go sakamoto recycled rubber stuff, I got my hands into some stuff being chucked out after the floods in brisbane and love it.

@bugs:  I know about the tape stuff now,but it sometimes doesn't hold it down to the middle of worn/footbraked shoes, I just clamp it and wedge the hell out of all the sides and it works just fine, although, a tape and clamp combo would work well too.
