Good work!

You should contact Martin Pavey to work on the event together.

Can I suggest doing the first one without ramps, instead use one or 2 push start.

That way you can get the longboarders that "don't do ramps" to have a go.

Also try a 50 or 100 cone challenge, $1.00 per run, fastest clean run takes the cash.

Instead of ramps, it might be more useful to get a timing system up and running.

These units work ok, use velcro tape to share them with many boards.

Or you can build this stuff:
http://www.skateboardracing.org.au/forum/topics/diy-wireless-timer?...

http://charliedontskate.com/bb2/viewtopic.php?t=3012&postdays=0...

The delay circuit (to stop the back wheels stopping the timer) shown here now uses a reed-switch relay, instead of a transistor, because it switches cleaner. (5V SPST DIL Reed Relay from Jaycar)

You can use the delay circuit without the wireless bit, and instead just replace the Transmitter with the stop-watch, and hook the start and finish line tapes-switches together, (in paralell). (this might be your best option)

How to build Tape Switches:

(I don't use the cushion layer under the tapes, and they last OK)

See this for course setting:

If someone is going over from Sydney, they might be able to borrow the Trackmate time from Haggy.

You will need about 100metres of 2pair phone cable, better still borrow a roll of Cat5, and put RJ12 connectors at each end.  (Pin outs for the 6 pin RJ12, 2&5 for left lane, 3&4 for right lane).

(on the tape switches the RJ12 pin-outs are 3&4).

OK we did it at Bathurst......can we do it in WA????

Look out for the next Jacks Attack.........see ASRA on FB for Scott Bouyer's post.

Big raceway, plenty of spare hot-mix, all its needs is cones!

I don't know of other slalomers in Perth but it would be good to try get it happening. I would be able to support it by making ramps and supplying some cones and hopefully racing.
