ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Ok so i think it would be cool for everyone to post up what sort of Kookies your riding (180's, 190's, 200's) and what sort of board your riding (drop thru, lowered, top mount) and what sort of riding you have been doing on it (free riding, carving, downhill).
It would be cool to gather this information to really show the variety of skating these trucks can handle. How does your ride feel? What were you riding before and how does it feel better now your riding Kookys? Whats the stability like compared to other trucks you have ridden? How do they feel through corners/drifting?
Lets get this info up and happening to allow this great brand of trucks to grow, ive seen a lot of interest over here in canada in the Kooky trucks and people want to know more about them, so lets give them a heads up on how sick these trucks are!

ive got the 200's on Kooky plates on my topmount and they work perfectly. the wide track and smooth turning make the board perfectly stable, but being topmounted, still allow enough leverage over the width to be agile. the split axle hangers make a massive difference in height aswell. the board with top mounted Kooky's sits the same height as a deck with dropped through randals / bears. The tightness of the tolerances in the construction of the trucks give a completely slop free movement, meaning they only turn as far as you want them to. my number one choice at the moment for downhill.

Me on the 200's top mounted, Pete behind on the 200's on the Glyde Drop Platform, and Steve Behind him running the 180's on a Flushcut.

ill be giving the 180's a run for their money on my drop through once they arrive aswell!
I'm currently running 200s with Kooky plates on my Landyachtz Evo, with a 7.5% angled riser on the back. the added wedging on the back truck was a decision i made to maximize grip on the drifty designed board. i was a little worried that it would affect the stability i'm used to, but it feels so much better than before. The trucks work so damn well with the design of the Evo and I couldn't be happier with how they perform. They ride so clean and are so damn versatile. Since I bought them a year ago, I haven't had to even think about those twitches you get when hitting cracks through corners or at high speeds. you just roll right over them as if nothing's happened and if you do get a twitch, they tend to be smooth and gradual. And their maneuverability is amazing. they just keep on turning and make freeriding so much fun. slides are so easy compared to my Paris 180's I have in my Dervish. I don't know what it is, but the transition from slide to grip seems to be much smoother. I'll definitely be purchasing some 180s very soon for even more versatility.

Me and Jacko on Kooky's

it raises the back a little, but its not noticeable when riding. what is noticeable is the extra leverage i can get through turns. it definitely is less drifty and i can take corners a lot faster without losing traction. i noticed the first time i did the bottom corner of Eagle, Adelaide (see picture) since i wedged the back, i didn't even need to grab through it. it just seemed a lot easier to control than usual.

sounds good leigh .
thats a great corner the way the rd sweeps around .. how fast do you hit that.

That corner is the Devils Elbow.
Its the last tightest corner on Eagle on the hill, but on the bottom section.
Its a scary corner as you are heading towards it, the angle of the road and the pitch of the corner are pretty deceptive. As you fly towards it you cant really see the angles. Plus there is a pot hole and a patch of road that is uneven and a bit slippy.

Leigh has no problems with it now,... but Ive seen nearly everyone come off there.

Speed is between 40 and 50 ks.
Posted speed for cars is 25.

The lads are playing doublies!!

A little bit of history of the Devils Elbow.
This set of 2 corners used to have 1 more even gnarlier corner, which was always the scene of many truck crashes. Partly because of the danger of this set of corners, a new freeway was built. The last corner is now a bridge + turnpike and isnt rideable any more.
Trucks have tipped on every corner in the Devils Elbow. There are still gouges and holes in the road caused by accidents that have happened over the years. That patch you can see is where a truck tipped and ripped up the bitumen.
Mostly people who see the guys ride there are waving and smiling. They know the road has a scary reputation,... and seeing skateboarders taking it on, is just about as ballsy as most people can comprehend.

Im trying to practice it,... Im using my Kooky's so I have more traction.
The 13th Phil. We must ride this hill together...... Top to bottom
as soon as I get mine the set up will be 200 kookies on a dropped glyde and lime bigzigs with ceramics bearings will be very fast
200's on kook plates on my evo.

though i'm not convinced they'll stay there forever...they may find a home on a different board...mebbe.
I did it I did it, 200 kookies on a dropped glyde lime bigzigs with ceramic bearings, now I need to get some new bushings for them ( currently have venom super carve oranges in the back and then I have a standard tracker fast track bushing on the bottom and standard red randal on the top up front) seems to work pretty good for the time being.
I love tracker bushings.
Stims friggin rock,... so do superballs.
no no, standard tracker fast track bushings, they are super wide and super tall clear with a yellow tinge, they start as wide a a venom barrel then go wider as they get to the hanger.
Ok so I guess it's my turn.
Im riding a Kebbek Niko Desmarais with 180 Kooks and red reflex bushings all round.
Amazing truck and amazing bushings = really amazing set up.
These trucks turn so well even when they are locked down for faster runs they still turn but manage to keep there stability.
I'm running 200mm/C7plates/85aJimZ on my evo, it's stupidly low, and I'm regularly suprised at how well it grips given the board is so low it can balance on its side without the board touching the ground...
I'm about to get my 190 protos setup on a drop-through. (S9mod) and when I get that dialled for drifty goodness the evo will get a bit of riser and some traction wheels.
