Hey guys picked up some new wheels to learn sliding on; went from Sector9 75a's to some Speed Demons 'Beez Kneez'83a's; weird thing is when i got the wheels they were already coned, apparently its meant to make for easier carving said the blurb on the front... Feels really weird riding on them too, gets heaps grippy when carving harder but not so much when rolling straight.

I thought coned wheels were bad news, but here is someone selling them; have i got some weird wheels or has anyone ridden them before?

Pre-coned wheels from pocket pistols made for slalom 69mm outer lip 67mm inner lip. More contact means more grip when turning. Its definitely not a new thing but it never really took off

This sounds like a buisness for Jacko.

"I will cone the fuck out of your wheels, then give them back and say they grip!"

Would it have anythg to do with the sharp lips, with coned wheels theres no such thing as sharp lips.
Also how street race cars have their wheels tilted to an angle.
On normal wheels, when the outer lip of the wheel deflects into the centre you would lose contact patch (i.e. grip). On a coned wheel you increase it because the wheel is actually flattening out against the road when it deflects. Make sense?

i have those wheels on my cruiser and they are not coned at all. It must just be something wrong with the pour
The other benefit on top of greater contact patch is the inner lip and outer lip rotate at a similar speed when turning rather than at different speeds on a flat wheel which in itself creates conning due to the drag
They are definitely coned mate, the bit of paper on the front of the packet was trumping it up to be the latest and greatest style of wheels haha.

Thanks all, just need to get used to the ride on them i guess :S
i've had  pair of these, cant remember anything about them being pre-coned, i did enjoy them for the short time i had them though.
