Hi all

I purchased some venom bushings the other day and they arrived on Monday, since Monday I have put them in my trucks, RII 180 Randals, though they don't seem as responsive as their advertisements claim. I have it set up with greens all-round and cranked down nearly as much as the king pin well let me, the back truck seems to be working fine though the front one is not rebounding to centre no matter how hard you crank it. Also the thane in these bushings are super bubbly, they are all riddled with air pockets ( I think), which early Venom's did not have. Also they are slightly wider then earlier releases and do not fit as snug into the bushing seat as I would of liked.

Is this a normal occurance for Venom's? I have ridden boards with earlier Venom's in them and the rebound and feel is phenomenal. Do the bushings wear in? or has something changed with their production, does it have anything to do with the falling out with Paris? And what can I do to fix it and get the most out of these things?
Please discuss.

how much do you weigh luke? yeah i've realised the air bubble in my venoms but i havent realised a difference from the ones without the air bubbles, they do break in, but they should still feel good from the get go. I'm thinking green all round is a little too hard for you especially for the front.
I weigh 75kg, I do have a set of reds to and did have it initially set up with green board side red road side but it was sloppy as, like there was no rebound at all and I as getting major wheel bite. Was just speaking to Jacko, on the phone it may be my front truck rather then the bushings so I guess i will just play around. Has anyone else had this problem?
Nope. I love my venoms. They have great rebound. I'm 85kg i ride red/greens so u might want to use something a bit softer.
i also ride red and green barrels i weigh 70 kilos and i have had no problem with em, best bushings around
I had a pair of randals that actually had the same problem as you (not returning to centre), but that was with khiro bushings in them, when I replaced them with venoms, that problem seemed to go away, I'm 65kgs and I use a mixture of yellow purple and red. What do you mean by 'sloppy'? Are your randals on 42* plates?
i got greens allround and they are fine, but yeh the more recent venoms ive bought are full of bubbles, had one that had a big split in it to,threw it out.....goin reflex next!
They are 52 degree base plates, they are stock trucks except for the bushings and they are on a Killswitch so there is a lot of leverage over them. That may explain the wheel bite but it doesn't explain the fact that they are not returning to centre.
You're getting wheelbites with 52 degree plates. green barrels cranked all the way down? I'm right now using 40 degree plates with purple/red barrels on my killswitch and it doesn't come close to getting any wheelbites. 72mm wheels tho.
I got some venoms with my munkae trucks. They're super stable and turn just enough, but not quite enough.
I'm going to have to get some softer ones. I weigh about 70kg and I'm runnin yellow and purple venoms.
Do they go softer?
orange are 81A and blues are 78A i think? i think boardshop has the softer bushings in stock.

is this for DH or freeride type stuff? cos i find green barrels too stiff for freeriding. I'm 73kgs and i run Red standards in my bears which feels great. red barrels feel good aswell. i don't even use greens allround on my DH board (but thats with my kooky's).
It is for DH
