I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice on getting either of these two boards.

2 completely different boards so very difficult to compare. Is the total thought you have put into this just picking two boards to write a discussion about or have you thought more deeply about this. If so please share what those thoughts are, you will get better advice if you look like you have tried to look up some info and comment yourself rather than immediately relying on others to do it for you
he wants a freeride board but wants to do a bit of DH on it

charlie a drop speed is very similar to your dervish with bears. i have both boards (dervish, drop speed?, and after stepping up from my dervish the drop speed felt very similar and comfortable, if a bit on the short side.

the switch will feel a lot different, maybe not so different to a nemesis or a chinook, i woudnt know, i havent ridden a switch.
you might also want to broaden your options, eg. look at rayne, glyde (boards coming soon, from intel).
try a few boards and research what type you like best.

i take it you want to use the board for downhill, so find out what board you feel most comfortable on, eg. (what you feel most stable on, what feels the best for your tuck)

hope this helps

also, im using my drop speed as a free ride board, but it feels pretty stable up at high speeds with the right bushings, like most boards.

out of the two boards, i would probably think that the drop speed is better for freeride. eg, symmetrical, drop thru, not too heavy
hes ridden jacobs nemmy isnt that just like a shorter fatter version of tyhe switch

shorter fatter, different drop, different company, wood, complete feel of the board imo. rayne boards feel a lot different to landyachtz boards.

no. lanyachtz uses maple predominantly on their board, and rayne used bamboo.

nemesis = bamboo , switch = maple

i want a glyde
out of the two, i'd say the drop-speed is the better board. i like the feel of the concave lots, the switch does feel like a tank. You can get some epic lean out of the drop speed coz the concave is sick, great all around board i think. you can really throw it round easier at slower speeds compared to the switch.
was never a fan of the switch or dually boards from Landyachtz, seemed like they were trying to get something similar to the nemsis from Rayne but just couldnt make a good board without copying the nemesis fully...

so buy the drop speed... if you can find one
Good luck finding a Drop Speed. As far as I know Landy have dropped it from their lineup. Sorry.
arent they making a 2010 one??
