I haven't tried JimZ but my Elims are pretty great. I'd go elims over barrels, but that's just my opinion. I have both and i mix them up barrel/elim combo works nice.
Maybe try and get a mix or if you know some of your mates have some other ones, offer to trade or borrow for a while so you can try them before you buy them new.

I had jim Z white tops in my indy's for a bit, i found them a bit dead and squishy tbh

I like juicy bushings in mine
I got some modified tracker stims from Fitz, but I like fat and soft bushings in them.
Didnt like the Jim Z bushings as much as Venoms/ or Reflexes, but its personal preference.

ive got mine on a drop thru set up, would the extra length king pin be a problem you think?

Mines drop thru,... an old JimZ Kebbek.
no probs with the extentended KP,... but it is facing out.
Main problem with dropping thru Crails is the unique curves of the baseplate. You may have to file the drop thru holes a bit to get them to sit flush on the top.. :(

reverse the kingpin... then it's not sticking out + it's easier to fit the skate tool. Some people will tell you it's baaaaaaad though.

because it is bad. It threads the axle and baseplate.
