Hrmmm seems like you live in Sydney. Have you heard of Bombsquad on thursday nights? Peeps of all ages rock up and its a good place to try a whole heap of boards. 

Well man its up to you if you want to try new things then go for it. I'm 175cm tall and the platform is a tad small for my liking. Really depends whether you want to get into freestyle as well.
