repainting help
i have got a landyachtz evo with heaps of scratches and looking too repaint it. iam looking at painting it white.
what paint should i use?
how do i go about painting it ??

sand it down by hand or machine. then paint by brush, roller , spray.
Probs use something that can take weather and get a glossy one because gloss looks very nice.

and a few coats of clear with a hardener over the top to make it chip resistant

then grabsome sctoch gaurd to get the extra waterproofness since you have completely destoryed all its water barriers after sanding.

i was thinking a prime coat and then a white gloss coat and then a clear coat
( would i still have to sand the deck ??)

spray paint ?
roll on paint?
(also i got white paint but it is oil based does that matter?)

your way overthinking it, sand back the scratches. then hit it with some glossy spraypaint. done.

white spray paint , wait for it to dry and thne do 1 or 2 more. then spraypaint a gloss over it . easy

Alrighty.... A water based paint is always a good starter. And a primer also to make the paint hold better when it hits.
1) You wand to sand it down really good. Not so hard that you burn through a few layers of ply, but enough to get the remaining artwork and scratches out.
2) Apply the primer to the board. Whatever the tin recommends and make sure you let it dry for the advised time. Usually a light sand in between the two coats of primer.
3) Apply the main colour. At least 2 coats. 3 for a good finish and a solid hold.
NOTE: Paint is best applied with a roller because it is more economical on paint and covers a lot more area. Maybe even a light sand on the first coat of colour also.
4) Then go out and SHRED!!!!
