ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hi Guys!
What about crossing the Tasman Sea and enjoying a DH race with us Kiwis (actually, I'm a Frenchy adopted by Kiwis :-S )?
I'm organizing an Outlaw race in Queenstown. Track length is 750m of butter smooth pavement, with top speed excepted around 80Km/h.  The skill level required is intermediate (must be able to stop and control your speed). The track is fun and fast, but quite easy (2 right hand corners, 1 left hand corner, and a long straight line, plenty of space to stop).
For more details/register, facebook event page http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=292670293031&index=1
The race spot is very easy access from Australia, as it's only 10 minutes drive from Queenstown Airport (Regular flight from/to Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane)
Come all, It will be a lots of fun!!! The full Kiwi team from Newton's 2009 (Eddies, Api, Dan, and myself) should be there too..

flights are about $350 return at the moment
Keep an eye on the internet offers. They sometimes do deals as cheap as $100 return way.. Pacific Blue, Air New Zealand and Qantas land to Queenstown Airport

We have held the Queenstown DH Race, and It was a blast! Smiles was on all faces, no major injuries, people came a long way to race, and we get a good media coverage. It's seems that NZ longboarding scene is now mature enough to held DH races...
Skate[slate] have published our race report that I tough could interest some of you guys... It was a first, and I wish we can held more races of this king in the future... Ozis are the welcome to cross the sea and share the fun ;o)

Good work fellas. Great to see you guys get an event together.
Look forward to the day I can come over and check it out out.

So, has Eddie really retired? Eddie? Eddie?
We wish Eddie back very soon on a board. Sadly, he couldn't come to the race this week end...
We have a good bunch of downhiller training hard. Keep ready to see more kiwis next year at Newton's!!!
It would also be awesome that NZ and Ozi do more events together...
At the moment we try to set GravitySportNZ to create a NZ championship next season. A lots have been done this season for the grew of longboarding scene...
