aclohol isn't going to cut grease, you need a solvent.

dude hot water and washing liquid will clean the shit out,, wash em around and soak for halfa then use a compressor if youve got one to blow the excess water out,,oil em up and go hard...
steve has been cleaning bearings like this for years and has tones of old ones that work fine..

Yeah the method leeso said, works best. Ive tried a number of different ways but this is the best by farr.........It saved my bearings many of times.

yah sounds like the easiest , ill do with a hair dryer to replace the compressor

ended up being 64% iso and 36% water , bugger !!

but would 65% alcohol be good enough to get rid of the solvent ? cause if that worked id still be 65% better off on a soap and water deal (in regards to water that is ) and i got plenty of solvent

That stuff would probably work fine as a final rince and a drying agent. The remainder in it is prob just water, and mixed in with the alcohol it will just evaporate. Metholated spirits is likley just as good or better and cheaper.

Whichever just oil or grease soon after you clean them to avoid them rusting.
