is it bad to mount like a top mount on a drop through deck...because im thinking of doing it but im unsure whether it will put unnecessary stress on the deck?

fark mate, lucky you posted! if you even stand on a topmounted DT it will come alive and spank you!

Ive got a metal plate on the top to stop the lateral forces of the hardware pushing into the drop through hole.

As far as I know however, cases of caved-in-drop-through-hole do not exist. Smashing-in the front of a drop thru is more common.

my friend did it on his 9two5 and loves it .

topmount a drop through is fine. loads of people do it

i top mount drop thrus all the time
cheers mate

If you do this and the neck snaps no company will give you warranty and i snapped a drop thru by riding it top mounted so it can happen.
I had a Comet FSM topmounted with indies that snapped at the neck. Comet replaced it for me. I rode a drop through deck topmounted for a year, raced all over europe with it, crashed it harder than I ever did with the Comet. No snappage. Decks snap because they are weak, not because of how you mount them.
ok,,,cheers
