From 2009 IGSA rulebook in the Guides section

GLOVES: Racers must wear full fingered, leather and/or Kevlar gloves. Any gloves constructed of
rubber, nylon, cotton, etc. must be worn over approved gloves.
just make a set to thrash and then when it comes to race day make a set that look good for the photos.
pig skin rigging gloves, velcro, plastic palm puck, flexable glue. easy
