ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

NOT wanting to open another discussion on this but we did say if we could not manage this in 2010 we would release some figures. With the problems we have had this year we can not afford our part of the set up so the whole thing has been shelved for another year.
This is not the full package (obviously) but here are some figures from our business plan just to show anyone who has thought abut it and been put off by price.

Land - 119 acres $95,000

this is just an example that I found in under ten minutes may not be suitable but this is what is out there if you bother to look

3km of hotmix road incl all ground work $528,000.....$22 per M2 by Discount asphalting

Skate park building 20m x 40m x 6m clorbond steel walls + trims incl windows and doors + insulated $90,000
Slab $120 m2 = $100,800 by Total span

Skatepark by American Ramp Company (kit pack diy build) all ramps come with skatelite $50,000

Full solar and wind power air conditioning and lighting kits around $70,000 from aglsolarenergy.com.au

cabins 6mx4mx2.4m $13,230
38.4m2 slab $4,560 by ASK homes

That alone comes to $938,360 that is under a mill yes there are other extras but this was just to show how cheap it really is.
Yes the finished project will be more expensive but we have calculated realistic figures coming in at well under 3 mill and money coming in as early as 2 months after project start.
No you can't have the rest of the figures and costings it took me 4 years to put them together.
Yes if you are an interested party that is serious about doing one of these yourself we are more than happy to sit down with you and have a chat.

This is for information only after so many people said it would cost millions to do.

what about just a property with a shit steep hill and 10km of crazy hotmix, bbq and shithouse.
So your telling us you can't afford it but it really is cheap? Sorry but I don't quite understand your logic here. Do you want more investors?

Good luck with it anyway, would be awesome to see something like this in Aus
I'd be happy support it if we got halfway to the amount needed. and if we didn't get enough money where would it go? But yes I agree with rob that we should just find a super steep hill and call it a private driveway.
This is just part of our plan posted so as to show those from previous posts it isn't as expensive as the figures that have previously been thrown around.
The idea back than and still is the more people that get up and try and put something like this together the better for everyone.
Yes I am telling you it's that cheap and no we can't afford it this year we made a poor judgement move with the business and lost a few thousand which impacted on our tax return which means we can't raise the money we needed.
Yes it would be easy to buy a property with a steep driveway; and no I don't know why no one has been bothered to do it over the past few years.
The indoor thingy, our plan has three roads intertwining so the runs can be changed it is suitable for downhill and luge, there is an indoor sk8 park because unlike a lot of the young guys a lot of the older skaters come from the park and still hit it. There is also a downhill mountain bike run and bmx considerations to cater for as many people as possible.
Just to finish off we have also considered a few things for those who would come and stay as families for the non adventurous to do, catch and release fishing and something for the little ones and the girls who don't participate.
As for investors; everyone thinks ideas like this are a great idea, look at other posts; until it comes to sitting down and putting serious money up. There are a lot of businesses in Australia and a lot of people who skate but getting them to sit down and talk is very hard.
We are communicating in a forum belonging to an association where (I think) less than half the users actually pay for full membership and a lot of people talk some very good games.
We live in a world where the attitude of "why should I? someone else will do it" is rife it doesn't take a lot to change that.
It's all about being bothered and getting a plan together and working through it....don't talk it go and do it.
ppl could be more intrested if they knew the return$$$ was garanteed, have you approached any org ie ASRA, X games, to find out if the park was built could they garrantee say the world championships there, and other major events, that in one event could cover that years running costs, i dont know really know what im talking about, just asking questions to learn more hey.
Its defiantly and exiting idea, and it looks like you have put a lot of thought into it, you obviously have a lot of business knowledge. It dose however seem like a hard road ahead for you in making it happen, as no one has done it before. I cant offer any real assistance, I'm not much for cash and i wouldn't know how to run business. But i do wish you good luck and ill be there on opening day if you are successful.

guys hes just posting to tell people how he is going and get people exited about it idea, no need to slam him about money ect. I think there does need to me more to it that just a shit load of hotmix down a still hill or people wont pay to use it needs to be viable as a business or why would anyone build it.
