to say it 'wont work' is just plain stupid. i would tell the people who told you that that they have very little skating experience.
i used to run the old smokies on my evo, which was loooooooooow as fuck, and it worked perfectly fine for me. I even put the smokeys on a chinook which had the forward rake and lowered the front even further, and it was still fine.
I say go for it mate, have a blast =)
putting low trucks (08 smokeys, kookys, plasmas etc) on a lowered dropthru such as a demonseed will definately give you railbite in turns, and thats an EXTREMELY low setup

I would go with Aera 38 bp front and back with 186 hangers.
Scoot runs Aera's on his evo. These trucks were designed by K-rimes and trust me he knows what he is doing.
From the reseach i've done Plasma's are a shitty truck don't waste your money on them.

Haggy got some plasmas and he said he likes them when he takes em up to speed. any sort of low speed cruising he said they felt dead but once he started going faster on mountains runs like Keira they came alive. So i guess theyr not good for cruising around but hold their own once taken a little faster
