do you really need a downhill board for downhill?
ive been skating for about a year and only been getting into downhill recently. i went to pumpstation the other day , and i was only going slightly slower than guys on evos and nemis and stuff. i kinda want to enter MOTH but i feel i might look like a tool on my bamboo battleaxe . should i wait another year until i get a good board and get better or just go it ?

you have to start somewhere champ,youll at least get half a dozen runs down the hill,and learn from everyone in the process,
i kno lots of people that enter races that just want to ride the hill,and not so much race...and you might end up in the jnr finals.....

Go for it mate... I used to use my Dervish as a DH board until I got an actual DH board. If you are comfortable on it, then who cares what people think!
