I see on lots of photos, that people have custom griptape, but with some boards, I see many people have that exact same design. i.e the Dervish.. And I'm wondering do skate stores sell custom griptape for longboards? Or do I have to make it myself?

And if you can buy it. Where can I get some in Canberra?

Buy some tape at trilogy and cut it at home. Also, yes buy that Vendetta!
I don't want to cut it myself, it'll look messy. I'll check out the Vendetta.
I don't want a Vendetta, the board I want has silly griptape, so I wan't to change it.

and

File > knife

as for the custom job, print out the image you want, get a 2B pencil and trace over it, place this face down on the backing paper of the tape, and trace over the back (it leaves a carbon copy of the design). Get a cheap stanley knife and cut out your design. To be honest, its pretty hard to bugger up, and so long as the thing you cutting agianst is hard (think chopping board) the lines will be nice and clean.

Don't bother with custom griptape. Heres the thing, griptape rips, it gets dirty, if you send alot of work doing a custom job, why would you ruin it. WHo cares if it looks messy, it won't affect your riding. I've griptaped boards twice, little hint, you want a razor sharp blade, if you use a kitchen knife or somethign similar, the tape won't cut right.
Vendetta is complete, if you don't buy it, you will regret it later. I've ridden them, they are amazing.

I might get it, but my main choice right now is a Dervish deck for $70 and buying some trucks/bearings/wheels.

The board isn't actually $450.

Jordan Fabris is selling a dervish with some custom griptape, u should talk to him

Tuure, I'm probably getting both.
Jordan Fabris is selling a dervish for $140, real good condition and custom grip

Is there actually a dervish for $70???? if so your getting a very good deal. Honestly the cheapest dervish deck would probably be about $180 second hand. Loaded make the most expensive decks.
Jordan isn't shipping, I've been talking to him for a while. Then he decided he didn't want to ship.
vendetta is so much better then the dervish.....
I'm getting the Vendetta.

The vendetta is a good board, i had one. Except it is not a flexy board at all, its alright for downhill and great for freeriding. Although if you get one put a shock pad or riser on it because my board got a stress fracture and the wood around the holes for the trucks was in bad condition. And for grip tape, don't do anything intricate, but just do a simple design, instead of black all over. Grip tape design is not hard, an easy job can take only 10 minutes and is easier than you would think. Put a bit of effort into it. And also if their is a BC eel for sale, id suggest it. It is much like a vendetta only flexier and the kicks are easier to do tricks with, although the vendetta is still a good buy, both are good boards.

Serious??? What style of riding are you lookign at, you have been trying to get a dervish, drop speed, BC moray.  The vendetta is worth $460 and you can get it for $300, its flexy and perfect for freeriding and downhill up to like 60km/hr.
