ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

As this is my first post exuse my f*** ups and newbie mistakes! I also wasnt excactly sure were to post this but here goes..

Does anyone know where to buy Bones speed Cream or any other bearing lube along those lines in perth? (yes i tried the search function) I got the point 'a skate shop' but I was wondering if anyone had seen any of this stuff in their local store? Ive tried my local bike shop (scarborough beach cycles) and City Beach surf shop (they've sometimes got some stuff) but have had no luck. I also don't know of many skate shops around.. since my local one ran out of business.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

i'm sure there should be a store in perth but if not, Bones Speed Cream.

Thanks for replies, i couldnt find the stuff on momentum's website but im guessing they just didnt list it. Ill be grabbing some after school (:

Hey mate i have another option for ya, "Singer sewing machine oil", it's a very similar grade of oil to bones speed cream and you can get it at woolies for a few dollars for 100 ml. Unless you're planning on breaking Micho's speed record it will work just as well for you.

If you don't want to do lots of bearing cleaning, go back to the bike shop and get some good bike bearing grease, they will roll just as good and not need regular cleaning/replacing as they will be more water and dust proof.

ok thanks guys will try those ideas out! Trying to get my board singing for the outlaw, any of you guys going? (perthians)

Ben, google "castrol lmx grease". I use this in my bearings as I found sewing machine oil and bike grease 'spins' out at speed (+30kmh). You can buy it from Supercheap Auto, Repco, and most car autoparts stores, for about $10 (but call them first to check they have LMX in stock). I use a syringe I bought from the chemist for $2 to insert the grease into the bearings (join the dots style, connect 3 balls, enough to cover about 1/4 - 1/3 of the bearing). I keep the syringe full and ready to go for next time.

Pros: dosnt spin out, lasts for ages, damn cheap (could share 1 tube with 10 mates and still never run out)

Cons: messy to work with (put newspaper on the table and have some rags ready), takes longer to clean out the old grease when its time to re-lube (use kerosene - soak and shake, repeat).

If you click 'view discussions' next to my name i may have posted more on this topic previously.

Hi scott, would castrol HTB (high temperature bearing) grease work or is this too thick? Im mainly looking for something (even just temporary) too give me best top speed.
