Anyone interested in a Hamilton Island Skate Comp??
Just puting it out there at the moment.
A few of us guys up this way have been tossing the idea around for about a year now,
It has a nice hill with 2 possibly 3 runs on it, an airport that guys from sydney can catch direct flights to, at cheap prices.
It is still just a pipe dream at the moment with things like accommodation to sourced and picking a date, transport etc, etc.
If we get enough response we will make a move to getting it up and going.
So let us know what you think guys,gals,skaters,lugers,Gbikers,and inliners

how many skaters there i went there for a holiday once .......fuckin madd place
do ur own local race and film it if its sic people will come ............or get some vids or pics of the hills .....i would be keen to go there for a week get blind and skate ............
do you still have to drive the golf carts every where

Butternuts lives out on the island, He was out for a roll his first day there and security came down on him hard. I think you would be really going to get a race happing out there, But if you do i'm in . Good luck.

Sounds like a good idea, build it and they will come!
As Blake said, really good quality videos will make people want it, just look at Rayne!
I would be keen to come along and partake in the down hill skating, as long as there is a lift to and from... blake!? :p

I think that having a legit 'event' planned would make it sound more appealing, they always want tourism!

get some vid up, we used a swag and a dirty old matress for the kanga valley outlaw, worked a charm. get everyone to use their bedding for haybales!

i skated around it when i went there in summer, and i didnt have any problems with security. most of the roads are perfectly smooth, but the runs would be extremely short i reckon

i'd be interested, especially if it was a legit race.
you don't see it in that video above, but there is one run that would be awesome.
it would be very fast and would require some braking especially coming into that bottom lefty. if that were to be the run you would get a lot of interest and it would easily be one of the best races/events in Australia.
i remember having a lot of fun on the golf buggy's around the island when i was there 4 years ago, especially on that hill.
